Founded in 1997, Shepherd’s Hope is an organization supported by volunteers that exists to provide free, quality healthcare for the uninsured in Central Florida. No matter what an individual journey is, when they are in need of healthcare and without health insurance, they can be welcomed into our doors and are provided with quality healthcare without financial burden.
Shepherd’s Hope is the leading voice for uninsured in Central FL. Cancer, Hepatitis, urgent care, we see it all in our clinics, and when delivering a diagnosis, we assure our patients this isn’t the end of the story, just the beginning of the care they will continue to find by coming into our offices. Since inception, Shepherd’s Hope has provided more than 341,000 patient visits and medical services to the uninsured children, women, and men serving the Central Florida area. Patients, who are eligible for services through Shepherd’s Hope, have low income (300% or below of the Federal Poverty Level), are uninsured and are not eligible for any government assisted healthcare programs.
Shepherd’s Hope ensures any patient who comes into our clinic is met with a welcoming group of professionals that ensure the upmost quality of healthcare. Our patients come from all walks of life with more than 82% of our patients being from minority populations. Through walk-in appointments, each of our four centers (West Orange, Downtown, East Orlando and Longwood) provide patients with a uniform approach that ensures the highest quality experience. Following a nursing assessment, physical exam, and any immediate medical needs, such as prescription medication/diagnostic testing, our case management support team assists with a collection of resources and health & wellness education services. This innovative healthcare model synchronizes and leverages a tightly woven consortium of more than 1,800 volunteer licensed medical and administrative professionals, 3 community hospital partnerships, diagnostic/surgical providers and multi-faith partners creating a beautiful centrism that is regarded nationally as an exemplary model of health care.
Our life-saving work makes a difference to those who often have nothing left to hope for. At Shepherd’s Hope we do not turn people away, we find a way to care for any person who qualifies for our services and is in need.
