Dear Grant Administrator:
Please find enclosed an application and proposal summary for review by the trustees of The Chatlos Foundation on behalf of XYZ Graduate School of Psychology here at XYZ School of Theology. My hope is that the Foundation will once again partner with us in providing scholarship support for students who are preparing for ministry in ministry in the mental health field.
We are requesting a grant of $________ for scholarship support, which will help relieve the high cost of tuition for our School of Psychology students in the coming academic year. Additional scholarship funds, above and beyond the existing pool of institutional financial aid, are vital to the success of our students. Although School of Psychology students receive the highest professional training in the field of psychology and the unique opportunity to integrate this with their Christian faith, they must also bear heavy tuition costs that can lead to high level of debt. We are particularly concerned about relieving the burden of debt repayment for our graduates, because many are intending to minister with church settings or to underserved populations where they cannot expect high remunerations.
Included with this cover letter is XYZ’s proposal summary, IRS determination letter, organizational budget, and completed Chatlos Foundation application, as required in your guidelines.
Thank you for taking time to consider this grant request. John Doe, Associate Director of Foundation Relations, will be happy to respond to any questions you may have. You may call him at (xxx) XXX-XXXX.
